Terms of Service
Effective: August 26, 2026
1. Acceptance
These Terms govern your use of PitchKeys (“the App”), provided by vargg (“we”, “us”). We provide the same PitchKeys service on three channels: the Android app on Google Play, the native iOS app on the Apple App Store (both com.pitchkeys.app), and the mini-app in Apps in Toss (앱인토스 — a WebView that runs inside the Toss app). These Terms apply to all three channels; where something differs by channel it is spelled out below. By installing or using the App on any channel you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. License to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own use, in line with these Terms and the terms of the channel you use — Google Play’s terms for Android, Apple’s Standard EULA and App Store terms for iOS, or the Apps in Toss and Toss terms for the mini-app.
3. Your content and responsibilities
PitchKeys processes videos you choose, on your device. You are responsible for the content you import and the videos you create and share. You must have the necessary rights to any clip you use (for example, you may not have the right to redistribute copyrighted music, TV, or idol footage). Do not use the App to create or share content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, or otherwise violates the rights of others. We do not review or store your videos.
4. PRO subscription & billing
The App is free to use. An optional PRO subscription unlocks additional features (such as removing the watermark, extra sound packs and keyboard themes, note-name and result overlays, and a longer clip length). PRO is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly.
Price: the price shown in the App at purchase (standing price KRW 2,900 / month · KRW 19,900 / year in Korea; USD 2.99 / month · USD 19.99 / year, with local currency and any promotion shown by the store you bought it in).
Who bills you depends on where you installed the App. In every version we are not the payment processor and do not separately charge you — the store you purchased in is the seller of record and handles billing, renewal, and refunds.
Google Play version (the Android app)
- Seller of record: Google, through Google Play.
- Payment & renewal: billed through your Google Play account. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: manage or cancel anytime in Google Play → Subscriptions. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep PRO until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Refunds: handled by Google Play under its policies and your local consumer-protection rights.
Apple App Store version (the native iOS app)
- Seller of record: Apple, through the App Store.
- Payment & renewal: billed through your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancellation: manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, or through the App Store subscription-management page.
- Refunds: handled by Apple under its policies and local consumer rights.
Apps in Toss version (the mini-app that runs inside the Toss app)
- Seller of record: Toss, which is also the payment processor for this version.
- Payment & renewal: billed through Toss in-app payment, using the payment method on file in your Toss account. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel before the current period ends.
- Cancellation: manage or cancel anytime in the Toss app’s subscription management. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep PRO until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Refunds: handled by Toss under its policies and your local consumer-protection rights.
Subscriptions are channel-specific. A PRO subscription is valid only on the channel where you bought it (Google Play, Apple App Store, or Apps in Toss). We do not currently offer any way to move, carry over, or restore a subscription across channels; cancellation and refunds follow the store you purchased in, as described above.
Subscriptions are single-tier: all current and future PRO features are included at no extra charge — there is no higher paid tier. This is the same single PRO tier in all versions.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to bypass the App’s licensing or PRO gating; don’t use the App to break the law or infringe others’ rights.
6. Our intellectual property
The App, its name, design, and bundled assets are owned by us or our licensors. Bundled instrument sounds are internally generated or, where applicable, used under their respective licenses. The current piano timbre is an internally generated synthetic sound — not a recording, with no third-party rights. If we later include third-party samples that require attribution, we will credit them in the App. These Terms grant you no rights in our trademarks.
7. Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Pitch detection and audio results are automated and may be imperfect. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or content, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory consumer rights.
9. Changes
We may update the App and these Terms over time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Effective” date and, where appropriate, an in-app or store notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
